A scarf or a stole is that perfect item of clothing that has the power to enhance your look rather than overwhelm it. From Nefertiti to Cleopatra, style icons over the years have delighted in the warm embrace of an elegant scarf or a silken stole. In India and South Asia, a covering veil known sometimes as a dupatta (du - two, patta - strip of cloth) has symbolised modesty from ancient times. Today the dupatta has evolved with fashion and is synonymous with the scarf or stole and worn with various outfits both ethnic and Western.
